Etymology of the name Yahshua

From the chat server June 28, 2021:

The original Strong's Concordance derives the Hebrew form of Joshua, which is 3091, " from 3068 and 3467", which is Yahweh and yasha, a verb meaning to be safe . The word found at 3444, a participle form of 3467, is also of interest.

Strong calls 3467 a "primitive root" meaning in part to be open, wide or free but I must disagree. The form of Joshua 3091 is יהשע which I think is a contraction of 3068 Yahweh and either 7768 shava, to be free or 7771 showa, freedom both words being spelled the same, actually, שוצ but with different Masoretic vowel points. I think 7771 better represents the "primitive root" of 3467 and Strong's overlooked it, just as he overlooked dam as the root of adam. But of course, that is only my opinion.

Sometimes Joshua has an extra vav... יהושצ but the result is the same. The first 3 letters contracted from יהוה and the latter two from שוצ.

I can make a joke about how to pronounce 7771, Yahweh + showa, He is the jews true "showa" as he liberates them into the lake of fire.

Gesenius spells Joshua as I have above, but with vowel points, and defines it is "whose help [salvation] is Yehovah" but he does not give the origin of the word. He defines it along the same lines as other similar names which start with a contracted form of the name Yahweh .

Interestingly, all of the "Jo-" and "Jeho-" names we see in the Old Testament begin with the letters Ἰω when they are transliterated in the Greek Septuagint, but not Joshua, which begins with Ἰη instead, the same in the New Testament.
