Ode to a Civic Nationalist
An Ode for the Civic Nationalist
If God had really made different races
Then set them in their diverse place,
You shall be found in scorn and blame
To insult Him with the lie that they are all the same.
You can preserve your statues and flags,
And keep all the legends your forefathers wrought.
But if you do not preserve your blood
At the end you will find it was all for naught.
- William Finck, writing for a civic nationalist perspective.
