Richard Kelly Hoskins, 1928 - 2022

Richard Kelly Hoskins, 93, of Lynchburg, Virginia, died peacefully after a brief illness on January 28, 2022, surrounded by his family.
 

At the Dixie Project at Christogenea we now have all of the Hoskins Reports in PDF format which were once available at his own website, but the site is now defunct. Some of them were a great encouragement to myself in the early years of my studies. While some of his ideas are unique, they are certainly worth preserving. - William Finck

This is a social-media-friendly announcement for the June 22nd, 2022 podcast at Christogenea. This announcement was made so that hopefully, people are not punished by the corrupt, controlled, Marxist social media outlets for simply posting a link to dissident material.

This comment will serve as an addendum to our paper The Problem With Genesis 6:1-4. It was inspired by an inquiry concerning the reading of Genesis 6:2 which is found in the Codex Alexandrinus, which was made by a social media contact of ours. Our friend had obtained a copy of The Old Testament in Greek according to the Septuagint, by Henry Barclay Swete, published in 1887. Here we have included a link to Volume 1, Genesis to IV Kings.

Admittedly, I have never heard of that publication, but have since found that it is referenced in a preface of my copy of the Rahlfs-Hanhart edition of the text of the Septuagint, which along with Brenton’s edition are the texts to which I often refer here at Christogenea. The Rahlfs-Hanhart edition mentions Swete in its Explanation of Symbols, as Swete’s edition is evidently referenced in the critical apparatus of alternate readings along with many other old Septuagint editions going back to the 16th century.

But our friend’s interest was roused because, as we have cited Brenton in our paper The Problem With Genesis 6:1-4, according to Swete’s Septuagint the opening words of Genesis 6:2 read: ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἄγγελοι τοῦ θεοῦ τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων, Which translates to say “Then the angels of God seeing the daughters of men…”

William Finck is still recovering from a recent illness. So here we thought we would offer a revisit of our 2011 Open Forum presentation of Sin and the First Epistle of John, as we prepare to offer a Commentary on the Epistles of John in the weeks ahead.

The truth about the nature and character of National Socialist Germany in the years before the Second World War is of course in importance to the truth about the nature and character of Yahshua, or Jesus, Christ.

But while the true story of Yahshua Christ has been told in our Scriptures, even where modern denominational churches do not entirely believe it, the truth behind the most significant event in the formation of the modern, or so-called "post-Christian" world has not been told.   

So one monumental work which makes an earnest attempt to tell that story, The Greatest Story Never Told is in our opinion the best biographical video documentary on Adolf Hitler ever produced.

When Dennis Wise first created it, he gave it away freely in Social Media while he also sold DVD copies at his own website. However they have not been available for several years and the movie has been banned from all popular Social Media platforms on multiple occasions.

So for the last few years we hosted several copies of this video at Christogenea because to Dennis, it was more important to keep the video available than it was to worry about money.

Now the video is available on DVD once again, and our friend Dennis Wise needs our support. Please consider purchasing a copy of this video in a four-disc boxed set from Money Tree Publishing.

We have recently had several inquiries from readers who could not see the images on our website. Perhaps two months ago, endeavoring to increase the speed of our website, we switched to a newer image format for many of our images. That alone improved page load speed by nearly 2 seconds which is a lot in the world of the internet.

Decreasing the amount of time it takes our pages to load, we also hope to rank higher in search results, as well as lessen our total bandwidth usage, an excess of which may increase our hosting costs.

The new image format is really already a couple of years old, and is called WebP. These images have a .webp file extension. They are usually at least half the size of equivalent .jpg and .png images.

But because the format was developed by Google, Apple was reluctant to support it. Now they have relented, and Apple has stated that it will support WebP images beginning with Safari version 14.0, which is just starting to become available. Firefox, Chrome, Brave and Opera already support the new format.

While we suffered no damage from the recent Hurricane Sally, heavy flooding on the rivers here in Bay County, Florida has forced us to move everything that will move, and to leave home for awhile for fear of being stranded and probably also suffering the loss of our vehicle.

The initial projection was that the water level would rise 8 feet above what is seen in the photo here. That has now been revised down to 5 feet. With the anticipated runoff from heavy rains to the north the rivers are expected to remain flooded for a week. 

Needless to say, this did not leave me with any time to prepare a podcast, so we are taking the weekend off. Yahweh God be willing, I hope to be back to work next week.
